Sculpture Park and OlivArt
Sculpture Park
The Foundation has a Sculpture Park consisting of monumental granite works created by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu, located in the gardens surrounding the museum.
The collection consists of animal sculptures inspired by archaeological pieces preserved in museums around the world. These models have been reinterpreted and enlarged on a large scale, giving them an imposing sculptural presence. The most emblematic work is the Haniwa, based on a small votive figure in the shape of a terracotta dog from the Japanese Kofun culture (6th–7th centuries AD), currently preserved in the Tokyo National Museum.
The ram, the bull, the cat, the horse, the Kraken, the hippopotamus and the rhinoceros are some of the stars of this park, which invites visitors to delve into the world of myths, gods and legends of Antiquity.
OlivArt
The Hortus Conclusus rose garden has given way to OlivArt.This olive grove is made up of 22 olive trees, most of which are centuries old, among which the following varieties stand out: Lechín de Sevilla, Picual, Grosal, Hojiblanca.
Thus, the flowers give way to fruits and oil. The trunks sculpted by centuries offer us a park of natural sculptures of great beauty. Climate change and the lack of water have forced us to make this decision. This is how we strengthened the symbolism of peace in msbb, already present with the Dove. Picasso drew his dove of peace with the olive branch in its beak.
The olive tree is one of the oldest symbols in the world, unchanged over time and of timeless value.

The symbolism of the olive tree is peace, fertility, wisdom, immortality, prosperity and success.
It is one of the most famous and recognized symbols of Greece and around the world. In general, Greeks and Mediterraneans have developed very close ties with the olive tree, not only nutritionally but also in a wide spectrum of symbolic content, from ancient times to the present day.
The work was carried out during July 2024 by Toni Bisanyes, who, together with Yannick Vu, designed and structured OlivArt. Long live OlivArt!
