The Collection EXHIBITION 2022 This book contains all the works that are exhibited in the Sa Bassa Blanca Museum.
In 1799 the Royal palace of the Louvre became a museum with 1600 paintings and sculptures, in its core, now having 485,000 objects. In the years 1994-9, 200 years later, the Jakober family home, Sa Bassa Blanca, built by the great architect Hassan Fathy, became the msbb museum now housing some 1800 pieces of art. This book with a preface by Jean Hubert Martin and a Postface by Klaus Wrede, shows the principal works presently exhibited in five arears of the museum: The Aljibe in which the the Nins collection of Old Master portraits of Children from the 16th to early 19th centuries are displayed; The Sculpture Park where nearly 100 monumental works in granite and bronze are erected; The Sokrates Space transformed into a Wunderkammer with works form five continents; The Hassan Fathy Building where the founders once lived, showcasing modern masters of African, Oriental and European art ant the Observatory home to the Camera Obscura and other installations.
